2024 Moon Festival

Despite being postponed, the 2024 edition of the Cincinnati Moon Festival still brought captivating performances and activities to Fountain Square. In another successful event, crowds enjoyed the multifaceted beauties of Asian culture through mediums including food, games, and art.

2024 AAPI Heritage Night at FC Cincinnati

GCCCEA Youth volunteers ran activities at the AAPI Heritage month celebration at the FC Cincinnati Pregame in Washington Park. Many soccer fans were fascinated by demonstrations of the processes employed by ancient Chinese printmakers. The celebration included other AAPI organizations, Asian food vendors, and live music.

2024 AAPI Roundtable

Leaders of GCCCEA participated in a roundtable hosted by Asianati to discuss the AAPI experience alongside Cincinnati AAPI voices including Mayor Aftab Pureval, P&G VP Andy Butler, and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Chief Medical Officer Tina Cheng. The two-hour event included an initial presentation and a keynote address by Mayor Pureval, followed by an open panel discussion.

2024 Asian Food Fest

GCCCEA Youth ran the secret menu booth at the Asian Food Festival for the fourth year in a row. Wontons in garlic sauce and savory lamb skewers once again sold with success, becoming a popular choice among visitors of Cincinnati’s largest celebration of Asian culture.

2023 Moon Festival

The Cincinnati Moon Festival was in full force in 2023, and the GCCCEA team was there to give Greater Cincinnati residents an immersive look into Asian culture, offering expanded cultural immersion experiences that allowed participants to engage deeply with the diverse landscapes of Asian traditions. From interactive workshops to vibrant performances, the festivities were curated to provide a more comprehensive and diverse showcase of the captivating aspects of Asian heritage.

Build a Longer Table

The GCCCEA Youth Leadership Team partnered with the Asian Youth Alliance (AYA) to host the 9th Annual Youth Leadership Workshop & Build a Longer Table event. Together, 50 high school students from across Cincinnati listened to talks by Forbes 30 under 30 entrepreneur Vineet Erasala and Cincinnati Vice Mayor Jan-Michele Kearney, created Asian recipes, and discussed cultural diversity amongst each other.

2023 Asian Food Fest

In 2023, the GCCCEA Youth Leadership team once again took charge of the secret menu booth at this year’s Asian Food Festival. Once again, wontons in garlic sauce were a huge hit and sold out quickly, and the savory lamb skewers were another quick-selling item. Written by youth members, GCCCEA’s recipe book, “Our Family Kitchen”, was also on display, highlighting cultural recipes from the local Asian community.

2022 AAPI Heritage Month Celebration

GCCCEA Youth partnered with the Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public Library to launch a series of education and engagement events during the heritage month. Additionally, GCCCEA produced a radio talk show, a video interview, and two virtual panel discussions to bring awareness to the community’s issues and accomplishments.

2021 Cincinnati Moon Festival

After the temporary disruption by the pandemic in 2020, the Cincinnati Moon Festival returned to offer local residents in the Greater Cincinnati area an opportunity to experience authentic Asian culture. This year’s celebration featured expanded cultural immersion experiences and more diverse performances.

2021 Asian Food Fest

GCCCEA Youth leadership team took charge of the secret menu booth for this year’s Asian Food Festival. The savory Biang Biang Mian made by the food program leader Edward Zha was sold out in a couple of hours while Katherine Wen’s Zong Zi became another delicious surprise to many.

2021 AAPI Heritage Month Celebration

We believe in the power of education and engagement to tear down stereotypes. GCCCEA partnered with P&G to donate 800 titles about AAPI history and culture to the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County and local schools. Additionally, GCCCEA launched an extensive program to engage local K-12 students and the public through cultural presentations, food sharing, and music.

2019 Cincinnati Moon Festival

Thousands of local residents enjoyed the cultural displays, performances, and interactive activities designed for children and families. Many embraced the opportunity to enjoy authentic Asian food, sample moon cakes, and appreciate the lantern display.

2018 Cincinnati Moon Festival

A partnership between GCCCEA and Cincinnati USA Convention and Visitors Bureau’s Vibe Cincinnati Platform, this inaugural festival attracted thousands of residents in the region to have an authentic experience with the Asian culture. GCCCEA was chosen to receive the Wendell P. Dabney Award for Diversity by a committee of hospitality leaders from across Cincinnati for its work to support diversity and inclusion in the region.
